Study Tour by Student Delegation from Guangzhou Civil Aviation College to VTC

To support the development of vocational education in civil aviation in the Greater Bay Area and to promote student exchange, 30 students from Guangzhou Civil Aviation College visited VTC from 22 to 23 May 2026 for a study tour.

The activity was held at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) and focused on the civil aviation transport industry. It featured a series of diversified, application-oriented experiential workshops such as Virtual Reality Air Cargo Inflight Operations, Exploration of Transport Studies and Airport Operations Management, Mock-up Cabin Service Experience, Aircraft Maintenance, and Drone Operation Experience. Through these practical learning activities, students gained an in-depth understanding of the operational model and latest developments of Hong Kong’s aviation industry, as well as the roles, responsibilities and skill requirements of various professional positions. They also acquired relevant information on further studies and career pathways.

During the programme, students from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) and the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong shared their personal learning experiences and insights with the visiting delegation. Through interactive exchanges, students from both places not only built cross-regional friendships but also enhanced their understanding of the learning environment and cultural life in Hong Kong. In addition to the professional workshops and a campus facilities tour, the delegation also visited Cathay City to gain further insight into the development of the local aviation industry.

VTC and Guangzhou Civil Aviation College have maintained a close collaborative partnership over the years. In April 2026, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as curriculum and teaching resource development, the establishment of industry-education integration platforms, teacher training, and student exchange. This collaboration aims to promote resource sharing and complementary advantages, and to jointly advance the high-quality development of vocational education in the region.
