非本地新生迎新日 (2019年)

On 28 August 2019, an Orientation Day was organised to welcome 60 new non-local and 17 exchange students, and open a new chapter in their education. The day began with greetings and welcoming remarks by new IDO Director Ms Irene Ho, who encouraged our fellow students to embrace all possible challenges in their new study environment, to take the initiative in learning about new cultures and to make new friends, and extended her heartfelt wishes for our students’ success in their future endeavours.

A series of exciting programmes was lined up to prepare our new students for future adventures, including brief introductions to study life in both the VTC and Hong Kong. Our International Student Ambassadors and current non-local students also shared first-hand experiences of their rewarding lives as VTC students, and hosted icebreaker games to help students develop friendships and adapt to the new environment. Some students also attended a challenging Survival Cantonese Workshop and learnt about Hong Kong on a visit to the Hong Kong Museum of History.
