The VTC and China National Aviation Corporation (Group) Limited collaborated again to organise the second edition of "Youth Aviation Experience - Air China Greater Bay Area Summer Internship Programme" (青春試翼 中航大灣區暑期實習項目). This year, 11 Higher Diploma students from different disciplines, including Business, Engineering and Hospitality, have been deployed to companies under the group in Shenzhen and Guangzhou as interns for a month. The programme commenced on 1st August, 2024, with an inauguration ceremony held at the headquarters of Shenzhen Airlines. Over 30 representatives from the VTC, China National Aviation Corporation, Shenzhen Airlines and Hong Kong China Enterprises Association attended the ceremony.
At the inauguration ceremony, speeches were delivered by the representatives of China National Aviation Corporation (Group) Limited, the VTC and Shenzhen Airlines, conveying their blessings for the successful implementation of the programme and their encouragement for the participating students. A student representative, Choi Cheuk Lam studying the Higher Diploma in Aviation Inflight and Passenger Services at Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) expressed that the industrial attachment programme would provide her with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the operations and challenges in the aviation industry, enhance her professional skills and knowledge and lay an important foundation for her future career development.
The guests and students were arranged to visit some key facilities at Shenzhen Airlines, such as the AOC Airline Operations Control Centre, Employee Activity Centre, Flight Training Building, Simulator Centre, Emergency Training Hall and Water Training Hall. During the visit, students had the opportunity to engage in interactive exchanges with the company staff.
To enrich the students' learning experience, the VTC offers students industrial attachment opportunities outside of Hong Kong in various countries and regions. Through participating in Non-Local Industrial Attachment Programmes, students can grasp different workplace cultures, broaden their horizons, connect with industry professionals, and expand their personal networks. Building upon the established collaboration, the VTC will maintain close communication with China National Aviation Corporation to create more opportunities for students’ growth and future career development in the Greater Bay Area.
