VTC Participates in Recruitment and Student Admission Events Across Provinces to Promote the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme

In March, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and its Mainland operations center—Vocational Professional Education Services (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (VPES)—actively participated in multiple large-scale recruitment and student admission events held in various provinces and cities in the Mainland. These activities were part of the promotional efforts for the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS), which aims to attract non-local students to enroll in VPAS eligible VTC full-time Higher Diploma (2-year) programmes and upon graduation, to remain in Hong Kong and work in skilled trades relevant to their areas of study, contributing as skilled professionals to key sectors of the city’s economy.

On March 16, VTC was invited by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security to participate in the annual national talent exchange and recruitment expo which took place in Guangzhou this year. The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Committee, and the Guangdong Provincial Government. It was aimed at establishing a platform for connecting talent with business enterprises while providing students with comprehensive information on employment and education opportunities. At the expo, the representative of VTC delivered a presentation on VPAS and engaged actively with participants, responding to inquiries about VPAS, life and study in Hong Kong, and future career planning. The event attracted nearly 120,000 Mainland students in total.

Besides, VTC representatives from various disciplines also participated in Spring Recruitment and Student Admission Fairs held across several provinces and cities in March. These events took place in Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, and Fuzhou in Fujian Province. At these fairs, VTC representatives introduced VPAS and other Higher Diploma programmes, providing on-site consultations to address questions from students and parents. Approximately 6,000 Mainland parents and students attended the four fairs, generating enthusiastic responses.

VTC remains committed to engaging in more recruitment and promotional activities in the Mainland to further promote VPAS and other programmes. The initiative aims to provide Mainland students with diverse educational opportunities in Hong Kong, supporting their growth into vocational professionals with strong technical expertise and international exposure.
