VTC students participated in GBASEA “Intangible Cultural Heritage Study Camp” in Zhongshan

To promote youth exchanges in the Greater Bay Area and enhance their development in creativity and traditional art appreciation, the "Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance Intangible Cultural Heritage Study Camp” organised by the Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance (GBASEA), was held from 6 to 7 June 2025 at Zhongshan Polytechnic.

80 students from 7 member institutions of the GBASEA—namely VTC, Shenzhen Polytechnic University, Guangzhou Huashang Vocational College, Zhongshan Polytechnic, Guangzhou Panyu Polytechnic, Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University and Shunde Polytechnic—were divided into 8 groups to participate in the competition. During the 2-day workshop, students learned the intangible art of Chinese Cloisonné enamel through visits to art studios, rural areas, attending lectures, and hands-on practice using the traditional Cantonese golden embroidery technique.

Students fully showcased their strengths during the activity, turning theoretical art concepts into physical creations, successfully infusing young people's creativity into the traditional Cantonese golden embroidery craft. Through teamwork and collaboration, the students established close partnerships, not only strengthening their friendships but also growing together through exchange and shared learning.
