Riding on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established with Sheridan College (Canada) in 2024, VTC welcomed a delegation led by the Dean of Faculty of Animation, Art and Design on 17 September.
Sheridan College, the largest animation school in Canada and widely known as the “Harvard of Animation,” enjoys an international reputation for excellence in creative education. Similarly, VTC programmes in design and information technology are highly valued among the local community as well as in the region. To provide the Sheridan delegation with deeper insight into the development of these two fields in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) showcased their academic programmes and campus facilities, while engaging in productive dialogue with the delegation to explore new avenues for collaboration. Both parties identified potential collaborative areas, including student exchanges, visiting fellowships, joint programmes and articulation pathways, etc., towards strengthening institutional ties and providing students with global learning opportunities.
The delegation toured HKDI Virtual Production Studio, the largest educational filming studio in Hong Kong. Equipped with international-level professional virtual production facilities, the studio serves both students and in-service professionals, advancing standards in virtual production in Hong Kong.
