VTC Received Delegation from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security to Strengthen Vocational Education Ties

A delegation led by Ms Liu Huiying, Director-General of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Sichuan Province, visited the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) on 19 March 2026 for a study and exchange visit.

Dr Michael Wang, Deputy Executive Director of the VTC, together with representatives from relevant Operational Units, met with the delegation to provide an in-depth briefing on the VTC's latest developments, its Chinese Mainland Development Strategies, the progress of skills competitions and the implementation of the “One Examination, Multiple Certification” initiative.

The delegation also toured a range of campus facilities, including the Smart City Innovation Centre, the STEAM Education Centre, and the Electric Vehicles Training Centre. Through first-hand observation and interactive exchanges, members gained valuable insights into Hong Kong's latest achievements in innovation, technology, and engineering education and training.

The visit not only enhanced the Sichuan delegation's understanding of Hong Kong's Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) system, but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between Sichuan and Hong Kong in cultivating skilled talent. Looking ahead, the VTC will continue to align with national development strategies and contribute to deepening vocational education exchange and cooperation between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong.
