VTC and Shenzhen Polytechnic University Renew Agreements to Deepen Greater Bay Area Vocational Education Cooperation

On April 14, 2026, a VTC delegation attended the 10th Working Meeting of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Vocational Education Cooperation Working Group at Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU). The meeting provided a valuable platform for VTC and SZPU to exchange views on deepening vocational education collaboration between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, while reviewing progress on key initiatives, including the development of the Greater Bay Area Vocational Education Park, student exchanges, and collaborative programmes.

Following the meeting, VTC and SZPU renewed the Framework Cooperation Agreement and the Collaborative Programmes Agreement, marking a new chapter in their long-standing partnership. Building on a strong foundation of collaboration, the renewed agreements will further strengthen efforts in joint programme development, industry internships, staff development, student exchanges, and skills competitions. The two parties will also explore cooperation in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, with a view to nurturing high-calibre skilled talent that meets the evolving development needs of the Greater Bay Area.

The partnership has delivered positive results in recent years. Collaborative programmes in disciplines including electrical engineering, building services engineering, fashion design, and games and animation have nurtured VTC students whose strong performance has been widely recognised by industry stakeholders. Meanwhile, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance has continued to grow, with a broader range of activities sustaining high levels of student participation and satisfaction.

Moving forward, VTC and SZPU will continue to leverage the complementary strengths and resources of Hong Kong and Shenzhen to further enhance talent development efforts. Through closer collaboration, both sides aim to provide stronger talent support for the economic and social development of the Greater Bay Area, while generating fresh momentum for youth development and high-quality regional growth.
