VTC Students Participate in the “Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance 'Digital Design and Manufacturing Innovation Camp'”

To promote youth exchange in the Greater Bay Area and enhance students' capabilities in digital design and manufacturing innovation, students from the Vocational Training Council (VTC) participated in the "Digital Design and Manufacturing Innovation Camp", organised by the Greater Bay Area Student Exchange Alliance, from 29 to 31 May 2026.

The activity was held at Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University and brought together a total of over 100 students from seven Alliance member institutions, including VTC, Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University, Shenzhen Polytechnic University, Guangzhou Huashang Vocational College, Zhongshan Polytechnic, Shunde Polytechnic University, and Guangzhou Polytechnic University.

The three-day activity focused on digital design and additive manufacturing. Through thematic lectures and visits to enterprises and research institutes, study tours to smart manufacturing industrial parks, and on-campus practical training, students gained exposure to cutting-edge technologies and their industrial applications. Cultural activities, including intangible cultural heritage experiences and creative industry visits, were also arranged to enhance students' understanding of Lingnan culture. During the practical sessions, students collaborated in cross-institutional teams to optimise designs and produce 3D-printed outputs under the guidance of instructors, followed by presentations of their project outcomes.

By integrating theory with practice, the activity enhanced students' innovative thinking and practical skills. It also facilitated exchanges and networking among participating institutions, helping students enhance their communication and teamwork skills, and laying a solid foundation for their future engagement in the development of the Greater Bay Area.
