(只提供英文版本)The "Bike Around Hong Kong" excursion was held on 17 April 2021 with 15 VTC Globalites, non-local and exchange students joining the activity. With Sha Tin offering a traffic-free bike path and thus a great starting point for rides, students set off near Shing Mun River and rode along the scenic coastline of the Tolo Harbour via the Hong Kong Science Park and Tai Po Waterfront Park to Tai Mei Tuk for a view of the fascinating reservoir.

Hong Kong Science Park. Serving as the city's largest research and development hub, the Park consists of a collection of impressive state-of-the-art building complexes to create a vibrant innovation and technology ecosystem. In particular, the Charles K. Kao Auditorium, named after Hong Kong's Nobel laureate and also known as the "Golden Egg", is the landmark of the Park which caught all of our students' attention when they took a pause of their biking ride. They shared their thoughts about its distinctive outlook and inspiration while enjoying ice cream by the Central Lake.

Spiral Lookout Tower. Students continued their way through the bike trail and took a stop at the Tai Po Waterfront Park. They visited the Spiral Lookout Tower which stood at 32.4m tall to enjoy the magnificent panorama view of the Park and the Tolo Harbour. The Tower commemorates the return of Hong Kong to the Motherland, and our students gained a more in-depth understanding about the history of Hong Kong.

Tai Mei Tuk. With the comfortable breeze flowing through the cycling track, students mingled with each other and exchanged their contacts. The excursion ended on a high note at Tai Mei Tuk as students enjoyed a great outing, formed new bonds and managed to learn more about Hong Kong in the memorable afternoon.
