(只提供英文版本)IDO is dedicated to the excellence in VPET by providing staff with the latest trends in global development and education systems worldwide through different channels. Kicking off the IDO Connecting To The World Webinar Series in 2021, we brought the webinar on Singapore for its success in pioneering applied learning in March 2021.
In 2011, the Singapore government had introduced an education reform aimed at developing a new applied degree pathway, under which the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) was identified as the first institute to be granted with the status of an autonomous applied learning university in 2014. We had the honour to have Prof FOO Yong Lim, Assistant Provost (Applied Learning) of SIT, to share with us his insights and experience on applied learning development. Participants enjoyed very much a fruitful morning during which they learnt about the good practices of SIT in setting up a government-funded University of Applied Learning, the uniqueness of their applied learning pedagogy and the latest development of applied learning education in the Singapore university landscape.
About IDO Connecting To The World Webinar Series
Aiming to help VTC students and staff keep abreast of key international issues and/or knowledge about specific topics even under the "New Normal", IDO continues to coordinate a number of talks under the Connecting To The World Webinar Series. The webinar also offered an excellent learning opportunity for our VTC Globalite, Miss Anna SIT, who served as the MC of the event, to practice her presentation and emceeing skills.
