環球菁英大使活動:法式薄餅工作坊

(只提供英文版本)Serving as the first Globalites-initiated activity, the Crepes-making Workshop brought our VTC Globalites and non-local students an enjoyable and rewarding afternoon at the Jordan Centre of the Alliance Française de Hong Kong (AFHK) on 7 May 2021.

The Workshop was co-organised by King SHUM and Marina WONG from Higher Diploma in Wine and Beverage Management at ICI, Saina TAMANG from Bachelor Degree in International Fashion Business at SHAPE, Lea LAM from Higher Diploma in Event Marketing and Promotion and Henry LAM from Diploma of Foundation Studies in Community Services at IVE. They worked as a group and coordinated with the AFHK to arrange the activity logistics and details.

Cheese Tasting. The organiser prepared seven types of cheese and some red wine for our students to have a taste of cheese pairings, supplemented with an introduction on the manufacturing procedure of different kinds of cheese. One of the Globalites, King SHUM, took the opportunity to apply his professional knowledge learnt from his programme and served our participants with wine.

Crepes Making. The staff from the AFHK was invited to demonstrate the crepe-making process, and students took turns making their own. Some students made a traditional one with Nutella, sugar and lemon juice, while others made their crepes with cheese, showing their creativity in making different styles of crepes. The whole cookery class was filled with joy and laughter.

French Culture Sharing. The Workshop host gave a short lecture on French culture and wine-tasting techniques, and students were encouraged to take small quizzes. In addition, some little-known tourist spots in France were also shared. All our Globalites and non-local students had great fun!
