To enhance and enrich the learning experiences of our non-local and exchange students, comprehensive student development services are provided by the VTC to help them attain personal and professional excellence.
Student Development
Cross-disciplinary Student Development Programmes are offered to equip students with essential life skills so that they can become well-rounded professionals in their chosen fields. It also aims to strengthen students' communication skills, enhance their self-esteem, improve their emotional intelligence and furnish them with appropiate attitudes and values for their personal growth and future career development.
Language Learning Support
In addition to the professional training offered by individual academic disciplines, campuses provide courses to broaden students’ language and communication skills.
The Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL) provides a comfortable self-learning environment for students to learn from books, magazines, games and multi-media facilities. Regular language activities and workshops are organised to stimulate students’ interest in learning languages.
Non-local Student Support
The Mainland and International Affairs Office (MIAO) at the VTC Wan Chai headquarters has a dedicated team to support non-local students' adaptation into the VTC and Hong Kong communities. A dedicated coordinator is assigned to each non-local student, who helps them to settle in, make friends, study and enjoy life in Hong Kong. We also work closely with campus staff to provide holistic support and put students in touch with the right people for assistance if necessary.
Please contact the MIAO with questions. If you are a current student, check out our Resources Centre or contact your MIAO Coordinator directly with any questions.
