Mid-Autumn Festival Party

On 11 September 2019, 40 local, non-local and exchange students gathered to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at the VTC Halls of Residence (Tsing Yi). A DIY Snowy Mooncake Workshop was arranged first to give them the opportunity to meet local Hall residents and make new friends. The students were intrigued by the preparation of mooncake wrappers and fillings, and the whole activity was filled with laughter and beaming smiles. Some creative students even made their own distinctive seasonal treats by adding chocolate decorations and putting their names on the mooncakes.

They spent the rest of the evening taking part in quizzes and learning about the interesting customs and folktales of the Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese culture while enjoying festive gourmet foods, such as traditional mooncakes, sweet dumplings and pomelos. The students loved playing with the traditional paper lanterns.
