VTC Delegation Participates in 2025 China (Guangxi)–ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation and Development and the opening ceremony of the Guangxi-Hong Kong cooperative education programme

On September 15, 2025, Prof So Wai-man, Raymond, Senior Assistant Executive Director of the VTC, led a VTC delegation to participate in the "2025 China (Guangxi) – ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation and Development" in Nanning, Guangxi. This conference was hosted by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and organised by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the ASEAN-China Centre. Attendees included representatives from the Mainland and ten ASEAN member countries. The Conference, themed "Promoting AI-Enabled Vocational Education and Building a Digital Foundation for Vocational Education", aimed at promoting AI empowerment and deepening regional vocational educational cooperation.

 

The VTC delegation also visited Nanning Vocational and Technical University and held a discussion with representatives from the University's School of Artificial Intelligence. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the school's advancements in information technology and AI-focused vocational education, as well as its cooperation experience with ASEAN countries. Both parties also discussed directions for deepening future collaboration in vocational education, covering areas such as teacher and student exchanges, programme development, and cooperation models. Subsequently, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Guangxi-Hong Kong cooperative education programme. Nearly 100 teachers and students participated in the ceremony, during which Professor So delivered a speech welcoming the new students.

 

On September 16, the VTC delegation attended a parallel session of the Conference. Ms. Fung Sau-ting, Kylie, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Office of the VTC, delivered a keynote speech titled "Strategic AI Adoption in Hong Kong Vocational Training Council", sharing the achievements and experiences of Hong Kong’s vocational education in applying AI to curriculum development and teacher training.
