The HealthTech Forum aims to bring together experts, industry professionals and service organisations in different fields to share knowledge, insights and experiences on active ageing and to promote inter-agency and discipline collaboration for the improvement of elderly services.

The “HealthTech Forum 2020: HealthTech for Community” was held by the HealthTech Centre of the Applied Science Discipline at IVE (Kwai Chung) on 23 June 2020. Academics, healthcare professionals, industry practitioners and service providers in Hong Kong and across the globe came together to share the latest developments of health technologies in different places and exchanged views on how technologies could be utilised to enhance the quality of life of the elderly.

Referred by the Austrian Trade Commission in Hong Kong, Dr Wolfgang KRATKY, Innovation Manager of Telecare and Telemedicine of Geriatric Health Centres of the City of Graz (GGZ) (Austria), contributed as one of the keynote speakers at the Forum. Owing to COVID-19, he offered his insights on “Telecare Solutions in Elderly Care: Examples from Austria and other European Countries” via online video-recorded presentation. Renowned speakers from Taiwan and the United Kingdom were also invited to share their insights online. Concurrently, a HealthTech Exhibition was in place at the Forum to showcase the latest health technologies.
