Programme Aims

Advertising and new media emphasise to take a holistic and integrated view of a talented society and apply a communications mix that is a mobile-first approach, underpinned by traditional media, to engage and reach the right audience at the right time.

The programme specialises in strategic marketing communications and is proud to train students to become modern marketers with custom advertising and marketing pieces. The programme provides professional audio and visual facilities, computing software and hardware, for students’ classroom practice, and workplace learning and assessment.

Career Prospects

Graduates may be employed in the fields of advertising / PR, marketing, and media. In advertising, media and PR firms, they may be employed as Advertising Officers, Account Executives, Designers, PR Officers, Social Media Content Developers, Event Planners, Youtubers, etc. In the marketing field, graduates may be employed as Marketing Officers or Brand Executives. The career nature is challenging and highly diversified.

Articulation

Graduates may articulate to the Degree programmes offered by Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi):

  • BA (Hons) in Digital Advertising
  • BA (Hons) in Public Relations and International Events Management

Graduates may pursue relevant Degrees locally or overseas. They may also apply for admission to the top-up Degree programmes in Hong Kong offered by the following university in collaboration with the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE):

  • Northumbria University, UK: BSc (Hons) in Global Business Management#

Professional Recognition
