The programme aims to equip students with technical and professional knowledge and skills in sports coaching. Through the blending of theoretical knowledge and practical application, students can pursue Sports Coaching or Training related careers in the sports sector after graduation.
The programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies or employment after graduation.

Graduates may be employed in sports coaching, exercise instruction, physical education training, physical fitness training, and sports supervision in public and private organisations, such as schools, community centres, National Sports Associations, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Non-governmental Organisations, private sports and recreation clubs, sports and recreation programme and event planning companies, sports marketing consultancy firms and sports media companies.
Graduates may pursue relevant top-up Degrees locally or overseas. They may articulate to the top-up Degree programme offered by the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi):
They may also apply for admission to the top-up Degree programme in Hong Kong offered by the following university in collaboration with the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE):

Students may apply for student membership of the Hong Kong Recreation Management Association.
Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
Industrial Attachment: All programmes in the Hospitality Discipline include compulsory industrial attachment. Relevant work may involve shift duties and may take place during evenings, weekends or public holidays.
