Programme Aims

The programme aims to prepare students with global mindset in the hospitality industry and equip with conventional hotel operation skills and to nurture creativity and ideation abilities through learning smart technology applications, like hotel visualisation, to cope with the global trends in the 21st century through workplace learning and assessment. Students choosing to pursue the Mainland China Hospitality Services Stream will have the unique opportunity to study in Shenzhen Polytechnic University in Semester Five for 8 weeks (to be approved by The Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China).  

Students will have opportunities to be trained and to learn in different tiers of hotels or other hospitality organisations to acquire relevant industrial competencies throughout the 2 years of studies.

Programme Stream

The programme offers the Mainland China Hospitality Services Stream in cooperation with Shenzhen Polytechnic University (to be approved by The Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China).  

Students will opt to study in the Mainland China Hospitality Services Stream in Semester 5 for 8 weeks.

Career Prospects

Graduates are competent to develop their careers in the hotel and catering industry in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and overseas.

Articulation

Graduates may pursue relevant top-up Degrees locally or overseas.

Professional Recognition

The programme is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) of UK (Accreditation in progress)

  1. Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
  2. The programme is an interdisciplinary collaboration, jointly offered by the Hospitality and the Design disciplines.
  3. Students enrolling in this programme are required to pass a medical examination for food handler at student's own expense.
  4. Students are required to purchase the designated uniforms.
  5. The programme is newly offered in AY2025/26. The validation of the programme will be conducted in 2025.
